About

I’m a native of the Pacific Northwest who came into art late in life.  Largely self-taught, I’m lucky to have associated with many great artists over the last 14 years.   Those associations have deepened my skills and guided my improvement.

Artist Statement

While primarily an acrylic artist; I find oil paint, photography, digital and the pencil are great working tools. 

My main focus is the figure in its most basic state.  Humans are complex to draw and infinitely fascinating.

Both professionally and personally I’ve always been fascinated by humans in relation to the world.  I’ve felt that while humans attempt to shape our surroundings, the environment shapes our human existence.

I see the naked figure as the most basic interaction with the environment that surrounds us.  I try to build my art on that fundamental principle that impacts our existence and civilization.

To me the world is an interesting place that defies my skills.

I enjoy moving my paint around.
